Q.

2yr old fever for a week now

Hi

My 2yr old daughter has had a fever now for a week not less the 38 and highest 40.3. besides doing the obvious to break the fever she shows no other symtoms. The only thing is, that she seem the have on the one side inflamed swollen gums and fever blisters in her mouth.

She sounds as if she has one of the herpes virus infections causing a stomatitis. This usually heals by itself but if your child won't drink it is important to have her seen by a doctor.

Hi Sharls,
The only thing that i know is that as soon as your child has a fever for longer than 3 days she should consult a doctor.
