22mnth Boy losing consciousness after bump to head

I've got two boys, 22 mnths old. On two occasions now the one has bump his head, once on the cheek bone and another time he's fallen on the back of his head. On both occasions he arched his back, starting to cry and then stopped breathing, his eyes rolled back and he just goes limp after that looking as if he is losing consciousness. On both occasions we've splashed some water on his face and got him breating again. I phoned the peadiatrician and he said not to be worried if the boy really got hurt, only if he does this spontaneously without getting hurt. It still worries me though since this can't be normal ? On the first aid for kids on this webpage it's clearly stated to take the child to the doctor if they lose consciousness even for a moment.

Loss of conciousness is definitely an indication for evaluation. However, if your child recovered spontanuaously and is now perfectly well again there is probably no reason for concern. If these episodes recur further investigation will be required.
