2008/2009 baby - affecting school years

I need help. I' m expecting my second child. My due date is 4 January 2009, but if I have a ceaser, the baby will be born in December. They say that it will affect the school years if the baby is born in December. And it will make a big difference if she' s born in January. I think they have to go to school the year they turn 6 or 7. I' m so scared to go normal birth as I had a ceaser with my first one. I did confirm with my doctor and I can give normal birth after I had a ceaser. What is the true story regarding the school years? Any suggestions please? Should I have the baby in December or January??

The specs for entering school change every second year just about. At the moment a child has to go to school in the year they turn 7. 2 years ago you could wait a year and send them in the year they turn 8 if you felt they were not ready. 10-11 months can make a huge difference in maturity at that age, but who knows what the specs for school going will be when your child gets there. If she is born in December she will most probably be one of the youngest in her class. She will also fall into the 2008 year group when it comes to sports so she will probably be the smallest, but if she is born in January she will fall into the 2009 age group making her one of the oldest and stronger.
