2 yr old still can''t talk.

Good Morning, i have a 2yr old son, he''s battling to talk he can only say mama, and only when he feels like. I''''m not sure if its because of a dummy that it can''''t stay out of his mouth, his motor skill is fine &  and if you give him instructions he follow them perfectly, should i be worried?

There does not appear to be any need for concernat this stage. many little boys are a bit slow to learn to talk but soon catch up when they do start. If he is still not talking by the age of 3 years, which is unlikely, he should be seen by a speech therapist.

Don''t worry sisi. When he is ready he will talk and he won''t stop. I have 3 sons and they all started speaking - out of the blue - at 3. The youngest 3 yrs old talks literally non stop from Durban to Richards Bay - one trip.

Maybe take the dummy out now and encourage him to respond with words rather than nodding or shaking his head.

He''ll be fine, it''s still early. enjoy the silence.
