Q.

2 year olds foreskin-URGENT

Hi doc, my boy will be 2 at the end of Feb. I wanted to know how far his foreskin should push back. At the moment his penis is about 3-4cm when limp and the foreskin hole is only about just under a half a cm. When i try to push it back anymore is goes all red. Please could you give some advice and how to push it back more. I do not want him to be circumstised. Thanks

The foreskin is best left alone! Please do not try to force it back as this creates little tears in the skin that heal with scar tissue, which is often the real problem. It is normal for the foreskin to be attached at this age and it releases naturally around 3-5yrs of age.

Hi Purple
I was told by my pediatrician that the foreskin should be able to go all the way back by the age of 2. That is why I came to this site to double check with the doctor. I was told that I must push the skin back every night. My mother in law has 2 boys , 1 of which is my husband. She pushed his skin back as she was told. Her other son she didn't do it and he had to be circumstised. This is my problem every one says different things. I will wait to see what the doc says

You shouldn't pull the foreskin back.
