2 year old teething in constant pain, crying

My 2 year old is teething and cries alot. He wants to be in my arms the whole time. I am a working mom - so it is difficult. What can I do to relieve his pain? I have medecine at home for pain that I got from the doctor, but it's been a week now that he has used the medecine.

It is uncommon for teething to cause such pronounced symptoms. The most important thing would be to exclude another cause for his behaviour. If he is not feverish or ill one should think of things that may cause emotional insecurity.
