2 year old not eating solids

My 24 month old son had high fever about 4 months ago. He developed blisters all over his mouth and was only drinking milk. Since then he has completely recovered, but even though he was very into solids before that, he does not realy eat a lot and only drinks his formula. I am making is weaker, but then he only wants more. I constantly offer him food, but he only plays with it and throws it out onto the table, which of course i tell him is a no!. I am at wits end. any suggestions. he is very healthy and not under weight.

The main thing is that your son is healthy and his weight is good. When he had the painful herpes ulcers in his mouth he could not eat and he got used to a liquid diet. Now he is only having milk and no solid food. His milk should be reduced to 2 cups of milk per day which is all the milk he needs now.Of course he also needs to drink water and other liquids as normal. He must join the family at all mealtimes. Put his food in front of hinm and give him a spoon to feeed himself. Do not watch him. He will copy you eating and while he may not start eating immediately he soon will do so. Do not try to force him to eat and if he leaves food on his plate do not say a word.
