Q.

2 year old has awful boils & stys

My 2 year old has been suffering from boils and now stys consistently since having chicken pox in December. I have read similar threads and have noted the use of Bacroban and Betadine, and washing the plug and plughole with JIK...but as we live in the UK and are having no success with getting help with this here, what other meds can I try that I can get in this country?

Paediatrician

This is a big problem which is due to staphylococcal infection. A 2-year old child should not be having this problem and your child must be investigated for an immune problem-especially for a possible defect in the white cell defences of the child. This is really important. Insist that your GP refers your child immediately to a centre where there is a paediatric immunologist.
