Q.

19 month old bladder infection query

Hi doctor. It's a been a few days (4 to be precise) my little baby fusses when I change her diapers...she says it's paining at the vagina. Secondly, she has now twice mentioned, last month once and just the other day she again, that her back is paining...her lower back. I massaged it and she fell asleep....Twice at night she complained. I work. My mum looks after her during the day. She doesn't fuss with my mum. My baby does not have thrush or nappy rash. No redness around the vagina. Her pee in the diaper looks like a normal shade of pee colour. What must I look out for? She does not have fevers? Must i take her to the gp to test her urine and kidneys? Please advise

You have given an excellent description of your baby’s symptoms. It is important to make sure that she does not have a urinary system infection. Please take her to the GP or paediatrician so that her urine can be tested.
