Q.

13yrs old - stretch marks

My daughter is 13, small build, slighly underweight, started her periods in +- April, we have notice very bad strech marks on her hips, buttock and upper thighs, she also seems to have celulite
what could be the casue of this, the stretch marks are very purple in colour am concered, please advise

Stretch marks usually accompany sudden changes in body shape as occue during pregansy or with weight swings. However, hormonal influences also contribute to make the skin more vulnerable. The best advice would be to keep a stable weight and do regular physical exercise.

Just seen your question! Sorry!
My sister suffered similar symptoms. I agree with doc but recommend that you start rubbing tissue oil into her stretch marks now to prevent more damage to her skin. It's a shame that she'll have them for life but you can at least try to ease the purple colour a little.
