'Norvasc' is the trade name for amlodipine which is a calcium channel blocker medicine used to treat hypertension. One of the recognised side effects of amlodipine is joint pain. Also in children with kidney problems there is the possibility that joint pain may develop as the result of uric acid in the blood being raised leading to a form of gout. There are other possible causes as well but I have just highlighted two of the most likely causes. It is essential to take your daughter to see her paediatric renal expert so that she can be properly examined and tested.I hope that she will soon be on her way to recovery.
