11month old with breathing problem

Hi, I realy need your advice. I hv an 11 month old girl every time she cries to hard, fall &  hurt herself or whn she gets mad she starts crying, only without any sound &  any breath. Dont know if im xplaning myself properly in a way that you know wht im talking about. The last time this happened it got soooo bad she turned blue in her face &  i almost lost my baby, as i could seehow she was struggling to breath. Unfortunatly her fathers mother was like this whn she was a child, &  my stefdaughter also had it whn she was a baby. So it seems its running in their fam, what can i do???

This is a very common problem in children of this age. Your baby daughter is having 'breath holding attacks'. This happens when she gets very angry about something or when she hurts herself. She will cry until she turns blue in the face and will then hold her breath.Although this is very frighteneing she will always start breathing again by herself. Blow on her face when she is holding her breath as this will help her. She will grow out of this problem.
