Q.

11 month old not sleeping well

Good morning
My little girl is 11 months old and has slept through from 12 weeks, and has ever since been a wonderful sleeper. However, about a month ago she had a bad cold which caused her to cough and wake up quite often in the night. Since then, she has just stopped sleeping through. She wakes up every hour to hour and a half, stands up in her cot and cries. When I go to her and put her down, she falls asleep immediately - sometimes even just seeing me is enough to make her lie down and fall asleep again on her own. I've considered sleep training but as she doesn't have difficulty falling asleep I'm sure it won't make a difference. It is as if she wakes up every time she moves through a sleep cycle into the light sleep part of the cycle. How can I get her to sleep through again? I'm desperate to get a good night's rest! Could it be separation anxiety? Thank you!

You are going to have to try the crying technique wher you leave her to cry for longer and longer periods before going to her. Start with at least 3 minutes and then extend the crying by a minute each time. Eventually she will fall asleep by herself when she has to put so much effort into getting you to appear.
