Q.

10 month old lost voice

Hi dr.

My LO is now almost 11 months. last week she had fever etc, and I took her to paed. He discovered that she had a bit of flue, and also her throat was infected. Gave antibiotics, and I also gave her demazin. This week-end, she started getting thrush (spelling??) Also yesterday her voice started getting bad. Today it is very soft, even when she cried. I did in the meantime get something for the thrush. The antibiotics is finsished now (also started her on probiflora).

My question. I read that it might be laryngitis. Do I need to take her back to paed, or can a wait a day or two to see whether it gets better. I feel like running to and from the dr the whole time.

If she has thrush inher mouth, the thrush may have spread down onto her vocal cords. It is important for your doctor to see her again,. She needs to go onto effective anti-thrush medicine.Keep up the Probiflora.
