1 Year old with allergies

Good Day doctor, my baby boy is now 1 year old. He suffered badly with his chest but is on Flexotine 2 puffs twice a day and he is much better. He gets post nasal drip ofthen, this causes him to cough alot and he wont sleep. I give him Allecet at night and one spay of Nasonex in the morning, only started this when he got sick now. I do give him ACC 200 to loosen the mucous and get his nose running and at night or I feel it is needed, I give him Allergex, I think this is helping alot with the drip as this is the only time he sleeps. My concern is that the Allergex is drying the mucous instead of treating the problem?? Is there an antihistamine better than Allecet I sould consider??

Your baby son appears to have asthma and allergic rhinitis. He is on the correct medicines but they need to be give regularly. Use the Flixotide pump 2 puffs twice day through a spacer with a facemask. Nasonex is given as 1 puff in each nostril once a day and this should be given at bedtime. Allecet is a long-acting antihistamine syrup and this should also be given every night before bedtime. Do not give him Allergex as this is not recommneded for children under 2 years. It will make him drowsy and irritable and interfere with his learning. Stop the ACC200 as this will increase his postnasal drip.
