1-year old - runny tummy after Novalac IT

Dear Prof

I wrote to you a few weeks ago about my then 11 month-old who was very constipated when starting normal formula after breastmilk. You suggested Novalac IT and with worked very well. The past week or so his stools have become more runny, and I have started changing to normal formula (Infacare Gold 2) for his evening and night feeds. He is thus getting 3 Infacare feeds and 2 Novalac IT feeds each day. His stools are still runny though? is could the 2 Novalac IT feeds cause this? I haven''t weighed him for some time, but his appetite is good (eats oats for bf, meaty veg for lunch, yoghurt snack, meaty veg for dinner) and he sleeps well. Has his digestive tract adapted to the formula?? many thanks for you time.

Your baby's loose stools are very likely to be due to the IT formula. It is a good idea to switch back completely to a regular formula.Your baby son seems to be completely well otherwise.
