1 month old behaving strange

Hi Doc, my 1 month old son is always making as if he is trying to push stool out.It is concerning because he is not constipated,he passes watery stool about 3 times a day. When doing that, his whole body becomes stiff/tight and his face turns red.Sometimes during this pushing he cries a lot, like he is in pain. Otherwise he eats well. I took him to the Paed, he says its normal. But this does not look normal and there is nothing i can do,that it will go away in a couple of months. Wont this affect his growth and wont the pushing hurt him somehow?.This is so heartbreaking, please advise.Thank you

This is not normal. It is difficult for me to advise you as to what the cause of your baby's behaviour without being able to examine him. It does seem that he may have a lactose intolerance problem. Please either take him back to your paediatrican or get a second opinion. There are several lactose free formulas available now.

Hi Dear
I don' t know why they push but they do, I was also scared when I saw my son(now 18months) doing this only to find normal watery stools. Then I saw my sister' s baby doing it, and their 2 cousins also did it. Maybe they are programmed to push all waste out of their little bodies.
If he is not constipated than you don' t have to worry to much.
