1 month old baby

My niece is 1 month old, my sister gave birth naturally and she had to be stiched so she stay in the hospital for 3 nights. the time my sister was in the hospital tried to breast feed her un aware that her breast is not producing milk this i noticed when she came back home beacuse i ask her to squeeze her breast only yellow staff was coming in drops couldn''t even fill a spoon. so we decided to give the child formula so we gave her S26 and the baby was crying most of the time and her tummy was making noise of gas. so we changed the milk to Isomil on her 6 day till today. yesterday her tummy was making noise again and the child was crying non stop. we tried to give her colic drops is the anything we can do/cange the milk or do we need to take her to a dr.

Your baby niece appears to have a lactose intolerance problem.Try her on NAN LF or S26 LF and see if this kind of formula helps. Write in again if you still have a problem.

That yellow stuff is colostrum and it is really good for baby. They only need less than a teaspoon of it per feed.

If she demand feeds this colostrum, then about 2 - 5 days after the birth, it will gradually change into full milk.

It''s not too late for her to go back to breastfeeding, please contact a lactation consultant or the la leche league for some help.
