Why does the biggest medical aid not recognize it?

Discovery medical aid doesnt recognize ADHD as a disorder but as a condition and therefore doesnt cover such seperately. Fact: ADHD is a disorder listed in the 5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) and has specific diagnostic criteria. It’s part of the scope of practice of psychologists and psychiatrists to diagnose and treat the disorder, and extensive research has shown a biochemical imbalance in patients. Why do they not recognize it?

Please ask Discovery...! We are in total agreement that ADHD is a lifespan disorder with significant impact on the quality of life of patients. If undiagnosed/untreated, it increases the risk for comorbid conditions, as well as the cost of the disorder.
