Can we expect further changes to the law in future?

The following changes are in the pipeline:

• Regulations to restrict smoking near building entrances, and in sports stadiums, railway platforms, bus stops and outdoor dining areas.
• Use of picture-based health warnings on tobacco packaging.
• Banning use of the terms “low-tar”, “mild” and “light” on cigarette packaging.
• Regulation of harmful chemicals added to tobacco products.
• Introduction of self-extinguishing cigarettes to reduce the risk of discarded burning cigarette ends starting fires.
