Sinus pain and pressure with no infection?

I've been struggling for four months with what I thought was a sinus infection. I went through a variety of OTC and home remedies at first and occasionally I would start feeling better and then it would get worse again. I finally went to an ENT and after two courses of antibiotics and no improvement in my symptoms I was sent for a CT scan as my doctor was anticipating me to need sinus surgery. The CT scan came back clear - there is no evidence of infection. My doctor is flummoxed. I have an appointment with an allergist in a few weeks but until then I am trying to figure out if there is anything I could be missing. My primary symptoms are: Pressure and pain around the nose and eyes A feeling of congestion in the upper/frontal sinuses Thick, sticky, clear to pale yellow mucus Headache Dizziness Fatigue Symptoms briefly improve after sinus irrigation but return to normal within an hour or two. Decongestants (such as Sudafed) do not seem to work.

If the sinus scan is clear then it’s likely to be allergic rhinitis.
