Q.

Removing polyps from sinus

My husband had 5 polyps removed by an ENT and immediately started having problems with speech and memory. The ENT upon my husband's post surgery appointment, stated my husband was lethargic and stated he may have had a stroke. We went straight to the ER and they said my husband's heart etc. was fine. We are still trying to get a clear diagnosis-we are told between aphasia and frontotemporal dementia. Too conquencidental this happened within days after his sinus surgery. It would be great to be diagnosed correctly so maybe treatment would follow.

A CVA is possible during any anaesthetic. He’d need an MRI to check. The other possibility is a reaction to pain medication if opiates are given.
