Q.

4 year old nasal congestion

Hi Doctor i have a 4 year old that has had nasal congestion since he was born. he had 2 adenoidectomys done at 6 months old and again at 2. he still struggles with congestion and snoring and it interferes with his speech as well because he speaks like one who has a blocked nose and his pronounciation of words have been affected. he has been to a paediatrician where she has put him on Flonase, advised that we rinse his nose with Salex sinus rinse and he was also on Flomist and allergex and allecet but nothing is helping. he gets antibitoic almost every 2-3 weeks to clear up his nose and at the moment i am just fed up with all the back and forth to paediatricians and ENT with no success. what more can i do? i hate to see my son suffer like this. please help. your advice will be highly appreciated.

I would suggest investigating further with a CT scan of the sinuses.

Consider reviewing his foods with a nutritionists, have him re-evaluated in a children hospital with multiple specialities. Have you ever tried a kids nose wash with buffered saline?
