Q.

Pain in right leg, especially at night

I have bouts of pain in my right leg. This starts at night whilst watching tv. It often starts as a "restless leg" & by time I go to bed, it manifests as pain which is almost hip height, the side of the knee & a bit of pain close to the ankle. The pains are always on the outer side of the leg. Before going to sleep, I spray magnesium spray which does relieve it. But I have to repeat that throughout the night as the pains would wake me. Could this just be a mangn. deficiency ? but why just the one leg ?

Hi Amanda I am 56 and have the same pain. It wakes me up at night and I can only sleep on my back with my sore leg straight! Sometimes I put a pillow under my knee this helps a bit. It is not sore in the day, but feels warm but is not really swolen. Is it like this for you too?
