Take a look at the percentages of elemental calcium that are present in these different compounds: calcium carbonate – 40 %; calcium phosphate – 30-40%; calcium citrate – 24%; calcium citrate malate – 24%; calcium lactate – 13%; calcium gluconate – 9%. Read supplement labels carefully to make an informed choice in terms of calcium content.
