Weekly tip – Heading towards osteoporosis?

Osteoporosis is usually a ‘silent’ or asymptomatic disease – until a fracture occurs. But there are a few symptoms of which one should be aware.

Take action:
These include: backache; a gradual loss of height; back deformity (also known as the Dowager’s hump); a stooped posture; and fractures of the spine, wrists or hips. Consult your doctor if you develop backache and be sure to go for frequent bone-density checkups.
