Q.

Dry sockets

Hi I've had two dry sockets now for over three months. Have had to take four regiments of antibiotics during that time and it won't heal. The pain is so bad I haven't slept in days and on top of this I believe there's an infection but currently have no way to see a Dr today and I'm having tons of symptoms and trying to figure out if possibly the infection is causing them and how much danger I'm in. I'm super light headed close to blacking out, horrible stomach pains, body aches, very, very overheated, sweating profusely, can't think straight I feel worse than I ever have. Hospitals won't help me or even help me deal with the pain or sleep or stress caused by it not healing no matter what I do. No Dr seems to act like it's an emergency when I've almost died. Been in comas, surgeries and none of them was more urgent than this is. I'm hoping you have some solutions and can tell me if these conditions are caused by the infection and worrisome it is. Oh one other thing, one of the edges of the dry sockets it looks like a reddish almost similar to a crumb of food kinda in appearance that seems to be stuck to it so I'm 99 percent sure its not food wondering if its part of the infection etc..... please help me because no one seems to care and my dentist told me it would heal on its own. yet it hasn't. and I cant afford a dentist and if all they're gonna do is give me another round of antibiotics I don't see the point to rack up a ton more debt in medical bills. oh I'm 28 btw. thank you

It's very difficult to say what's wrong and whether the healing is normal in appearance without having seen you. My suggestion would be to see a maxillofacial specialist if you not getting any joy from your dentists. There are maillofacial specialists in state hospitals (Chris Hani, Charlotte Maxete)
