Q.

Need an orthodontist

My son is 10 years old and needs braces for his teeth. We went to the clinic and were given a letter to go to Johannesburg Gen hospital. They put my name on a waiting list but now I am worried when they will actually start with that list. Can I do it with cash and a referral to pay every month for this?

From what I have heard the waiting list at that hospital is around 2-3 years. You can see a private orthodontist. There is usually a fee upfront for the initial consultation, x-rays, models etc then the balance is paid monthly over the course of treatment.
