16yrs and still bedwetting, what might be the problem or cause?

My daughter is 16yrs and still bedwetting, I took her to the urologist who prescribed medication but it could not help.

Dear Thoko

It is not normal to have bedwetting at 16 years.
There are many different options in terms of treatment, and I would urge you to take her back to the same Urologist for further assessment, and adjusting her treatment (both type and dose are possible).
Kind regards

I am in my eighties , male , and also wet my bed until the age of 17 . Nobody knows the humiliation and suffering one goes through . Nobody will just lay there and wet him or herself on purpose. I have often thought back and I am very sure that the problem was that I slept to deeply . I remember being told about thunderstorms and other noises that woke everyone except me . So stop humiliating the sufferers and concentrate on getting them to sleep lighter . How ? I do not know .

I agree with you 100% My son wet his bed until he was 12. I always said he had a deep sleep problem not a bed wetting problem. Nothing would wake him up. We tried everything, from medication, rewards to bed wetting alarms. Best advice I got - forget about it, it will stop. One day he was dry and never wet again. It is certainly not something that a child has any control over.
