Q.

Isolated systolic hypertension

I am 27years old and use to be involved in bodybuilding. I have stopped bodybuilding and the use of any supplements about three years ago and have started running. I have a very high VO2max and am very fit. My blood pressure readings however seem to stay high; 145/80 on average. I have been to several doctors and cardiologists and have been on Tarec and am currently on Zanidip 10mg. The doctors keep on telling me that this is not a problem but I am not comfortable with their analysis and would like to know what to do to try and improve my systolic blood pressure. The meds seem to not have any effect on my systolic bp as it constantly stays around 140-150. Please would you advise accordingly

Try up the Zanidip to 20mg at night? There is no BP that can not be controlled.
