Hypertension

Question

Q.

I have been hypertensive for 30 years and had 2 toxemic pregnancies.

I'm currently on 4 meds, being Zartan Co 100, Cardugen 4, Bilocor 10 and Tambocor 200 (since last year, following diagnosis of AF). My GP is now adding Dapamax 2.5 because BP is still high. I'm worried about the side effects given my existing AF. I'm 59 and overweight and struggle with oedema. It just seems like too many pills! How safe is this medication.

Much safer than the impending stroke which in the best situation will leave you dead, in the worst, a bedridden invalid. Sorry, but that is the situation. Please reach your normal weight, it will assist your BP control, otherwise your dr will end up having to add another tablet, because your BP must be controlled.
