Q.

Hypertension that Varies during Day

My husband, 72, has hypertension that is perfectly normal when sitting at rest but when will go to 140's at the doctor's office, even tho he is not nervous. But when I go to the doctor's, which really makes me nervous, my normal number of 110 only goes up to 120. Why do his numbers jump around so much?

It is called white coat hypertension. Do not worry about it, as long as his BP is normal most of the time, which is at home. Your BP worries me - too low - is that on hypertension treatment? If yes, your BP medicine should be decreased a little bit.
