Q.

High BP 175/99

My BP is high, I am not overweight, non-smoker/drinker and I drink 4 cups of coffee per day. Other than that I drink water and yet my blood pressure is still high. Any advice?

Urgent treatment needed. Please see your dr. Decrease your caffeine intake to a max of 2 cups per day. Remember, as said before, BP is not only about life style. The pliability of the arteries decreases with age, and there is nothing you can do about it, except handle your risk factors eg smoking and then take your tablets to control your hypertension. Also remember, that once your BP is controlled, your antihypertensive medicine can NOT be stopped, as this is not an illness that can be cured, but a condition that must be controlled and if the medicine is stopped, the blood pressure will rise again.
