Moderate drinking tied to heart health

Research shows that people who drink alcohol in moderation (one drink or less per day) are 14 to 25% less likely to develop heart disease as those who don't drink alcohol.

Moderate alcohol consumption may help protect against heart disease, according to two new papers by Canadian researchers.

The findings, published online in the BMJ, add to evidence from prior studies that found moderate alcohol consumption may be associated with a decreased risk of heart disease.
