Q.

Stapedectomy for Otosclerosis: Before or after Pregnancy?

Would you recommend the operation before or after having my children? (Pregnancy aggravates the Otosclerosis badly, apparantly).

Dear Atar

You are right about the fact that pregnancy can have an effect on Otosclerosis. I would recommend the operation after having your children, but i would definitely advise you to speak to your ENT specialist for his/her opinion. The appropriateness of an operation would depend on your specific case history.
