Rushing sound in left ear

I have Rinitus and use a nasal spray for hayfever. Also get sinisitus. Have a rushing noise in my left ear which started 5 days ago. Went to the Dr and checked my ears but no wax or infection and eardrum fine and hearing fine. Dr gave me antihestamin and another nasal spray. Any idea of where the noise could stem from?

Thank you

Hi Anita!

The rushing noise in your ear may be Tinnitus, which may be exacerbated in some instances by your presenting sinus condition. Hence, you become more aware of it whilst you have sinusitis. It would be a good idea to visit an Audiologist and ENT {Ear Nose and Throat} specialist to appropriately assist you further.

The above professionals would conduct appropriate assessments to determine and confirm whether the sound you describe is tinnitus; and henceforth determine the type and severity. Thereafter, based on whether your tinnitus is subjective or objective, a possible site of the presenting symptom {tinnitus} may be assumed. Hence, appropriate management would follow to assist with the presenting condition.

Kind regards,
