Q.

ringing in ears

I had dental surgery about 2 yrs ago, my upper jaw was re- aligned. After that I began having ear problems.

I repeatedly got ear infection and ringing noises in my ear.
As time goes by, I can hear less and less in my left ear.

I have been to 2 ear, noose and throught specialists!!
The problem persists. I asked for something to be done about the ringing, but they said It cant be fixed.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I had my ear drained and a gromit put in (twice). I had fluid behind my eardrum. I don't know if the surgery caused the problem - but my ear was perfect before the jaw surgery.

Dear Tracey

Have you had your hearing evaluated. I would strongly recommend that you go and see an audiologist and have a full hearing evaluation done. After the tests, one would be able to decide what the best route to follow, is. If you don't already have an audiologist, please mail me and i will gladly refer you to someone in your area. (izabelle@widex.co.za). They are the professionals involved in full hearing evaluations and the treatment of tinnitus (ringing in your ears).

Please let me know if you need any further information

Kind regards
Izabelle Pieterse
