Q.

No ear pressure in left ear

I have been having problems with my left ear for a while now (4 weeks) sore , blocked and I'm constantly tired!!! I've been to two different GP's and I'm currently on a seond course of Antibiotics and I've been taking Cortezone (spelling) and Sinumed for the last two days.

I had an ear pressure test and my left ear has NO pressure, what exactly does this mean as my GP thinks it's referred pain and there's nothing wrong with the ear itself!

How long should I wait before I see a specialist - it's really annoying having this constant earache.

Your respsonse would be appreciated,
VG

Dear VG

If you have already been to more than one GP and your symptoms are still persisting, then i recommend that you see an ENT specialist as soon as possible. I would recommend that you have a proper hearing evaluation as well as middle ear testing done by an audiologist. If you don't know of someone in your area, then please contact me and i will gladly refer you (izabelle@widex.co.za).

Please let me know how things are progressing

Kind regards
Izabelle Pieterse
