Babies of all ages get grommets - if you are concerned that it is to early, discuss your concerns with the ENT specialist. He/she can explain the urgency (if it is urgent). Ask for them to motivate the decision and if you are uncertain then seek a second opinion. It is however important to not just leave it - children loose a lot of important auditory information and language learning opportunity, if the ears are not at optimal functioning. We also don't want any unneccesary damage to the little ones ears. Often times, the problem can be dealt with by using medication but you need to discuss the detail with the ENT.
