Q.

Ears close when lying down.

Hi,

Whenever I lie down both my ears close up and I can hardly hear a thing. When I get up they both open up again. Sometimes I have to rub the one ear before it will open. Could this be because of excessive wax? I have had wax removed from my ears before, this caused both to close for quite a while before I could hear normal again.

Hi Ben,

I would definitely advise that you consult your Ear, Nose and Throat specialist. It is possible that it could be wax but you have to let a specialist check it out.
