Ear Problem

My wife has been diagnosed that she has a hole in her ear and she must have an operation. Sometimes she complaints that it is painful and some oudor fluid are coming out. But the problem is that she does not wan to go for operation, beacuase 4 months ago she have an operation. I'm concern that will that hole not affect her hearing capability in future. Please respond to me.

Dear Sid

I think it will be a good idea to consider the operation. The hole in the eardrum can cause problems. Talk to your specialist and get his/her input on it. A perforated eardrum could cause a hearing loss. It depends on where exactly the hole is and how big it is.

Please discuss this again with your ENT specialist
