Q.

6 yr old with continuos ear problems

My daughter is 6. She has had ear problems since she was 6 months old when the inserted grommets into her ears because she had pneumonia and she was not responding to any treatment. During her infant years she would have an ear infection at least once a month. 2 ENT’s 4 sets of grommets, a tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, sinus wash, burst ear drum and a tymapnoplast we are back to square one. 14 months after the tympanoplast she is back to her ENT due to the ear that had the tympanoplast done in started to leak again. He prescribed drops and an antibiotic and still the ear leaks. He prescribed more drops and said she must go for a hearing test next month to check how it has affected her hearing. She goes every 6 months for a hearing test as they found a celstetoma (sp?) I also told him that she seemed run down with some kind of upper respiratory infection, which he never even checked. I would like to find an excellent ENT. I live on the East Rand but am prepared to go anywhere to find the best doctor to help my child. She is a bright little girl and I really don’t want hearing damage to hold her back when she starts school next year. Please help, any suggestions are welcome.
Thank You
