Q.

3 yr old can't stand loud noises.

My 3 year old son from an early age could not stand loud noises and would either close his ears or run and hide. We took it for granted that he was scared, an example, the hairdryer, the vacuum, the sound of a drill or a truck driving past. Now it has become so bad that someone mentioned that he might have a problem with his ears, sensitive ears. Please advise and what is the best way of handling this problem. Thanks

Dear Vi

I would strongly advise you to see a paediatric audiologist so that we can get his hearing and sensitivity evaluated as soon as possible. Please mail me at izabelle@widex.co.za, so that i can refer you to an audiologist in your area.

Kind regards
