It is important for everyone that tests HIV positive to start treatment because we now know that HIV causes inflammation of the organs. This can damage the organs in the long run. Taking antiretroviral treatment helps to keep the viral load suppressed. Please go and speak to a doctor or nurse clinician and consider starting lifelong antiretroviral treatment

Advice is to be on meds to increase your life span, some people can last long without medication and remain healthy and have an undetectable viral load they are known as elite controllers but even them are advised to take medication. Everyone in South Africa regardless of their CD4 count can have access to ARVS. All types HIV 1 and HIV 2 can get to AIDS and that's not what we want people must seek appropriate help. But the choice lies solely on you. I am not a professional so wait for the doctor's response
