Q.

4th generation Ab/Ag test

I had a hiv test 45 days after unprotected sex. It was negative. It was the 4th generation Ab/Ag test. How accurate is this test?

The 4th Generation test can detect HIV within 4 - 6 weeks of infection. A negative test at 45 days is a very good sign. Repeat the test at week 12 post-exposure. It will most probably be negative
