Q.

Waking up with migraine when having flu

I have taken flu vaccine before winter, and now this is my second flu after taking it. This one that I have is terrible, I have lost a voice, I cough a lot, when I blow my nose it comes with blood, it is worse because I wake up with a migraine. And my joints are sore especially lower back and neck pain. I went to clinic and was given Allmox 500 and Ibrufen tablets, the back pain was gone but still woke up with a migraine as I have been suffering from it when I ate cheese and milk, but this time I don't have appetite as I have sores inside my mouth, nose and lips. I am on ARVs with undetectable virus and recently gained weight. I only enjoy drinking water and sour soft porridge to fill my stomach before taking my meds

Hi Sarah
I am sorry to hear that you are not feeling well and if the headache is still persisting, you must please go back to the doctor because then you might have an illness other than the flu, especially because your immune system is compromised. Good luck and I hope that you feel better soon.
