Colds and flu

Q.

Contagious

Spent time in a car with windows closed with friend who has now been diagnosed with H.influenza. I am 70 years old and worry about having contact with her. She's been on two or three different antibiotics. She had to wear a mask when leaving hospital, but doesn't wear anymore. Still contagious?

Hi Lorraine
Yes, she was probably still contagious because the antibiotics will do nothing to the influenza virus. The best you can do is to keep your immune system strong with healthy eating and some supplements to help prevent your body from becoming ill. I can also suggest that you get the flu vaccination at the beginning of the flu season (which you probably did do). If not, that is definitely something to consider March/April next year. Good luck and I hope you do not become ill.
