Q.

Severe flu symptoms

Good day, I suddenly developed flu symptoms (without prior signs) in approximately 1 hours time: I started coughing, throat was burning when I coughed, sneezing, runny and stuffy nose, severe body aches, mild muscle cramps, nausea and tiredness. What can this possibly be or what should I do? I am just scared that it could be something severe and I get treatment after it is to late.

Hi

It does sound like the flu, but I agree, it would be a good idea to go to the doctor -this can be a severe strain of the flu and then you can be treated with antiviral medication, if it is within 72 hours of developing the symptoms. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon. (Did you travel recently? This is important for in case you contracted an illness in another country.)
