Colds and flu

Q.

Flu vaccine and COVID.

Hi there, I see Discovery is encouraging people to get the flu vaccine. But I have also heard that it is in short supply in South Africa and reserved only for health workers? Can I in good conscience get my family vaccinated? We need to stay healthy to fight of Corona. Is it, therefore, more important for my family to be vaccinated now than say last year?

Hi Louisa

Yes, at the moment, if the flu vaccine is available at your pharmacy, you can have the vaccination. It will also help the heath workers if you and your family stay healthy! :-) Good luck and stay safe.
