Q.

Flu shot

Dear Doc. I have an elderly mother of 73 years old. A few years ago she had flu. She complained about headaches and had fewer chills. She went to hospital and the doctor diagnosed flu. Her blood pressure rocketed and also her glucose levels went sky high. They kept her for 5 days. She is on simvastatim, enalapril, furosimide, atenolol and also on insulin. Can she take a flu shot.

Hi
Yes, she can take the flu shot, it is especially recommended for people who are more likely to develop the flu, such as the elderly. Good luck and I hope that she stays well and healthy during this flu season.
